Industrial Coolant and Lube Recirculation Systems Kim Hotstart offers complete circulating heating systems for any large industrial engine or locomotive engine. Most systems are mounted on a steel plate with a prewired junction box, pump and motor components, a flow detection device and inline and high-limit thermostats. Plus, most systems have fused 120 volt control voltage, regardless of applied voltage. Systems are available for lube oil heating, coolant heating, diesel fuel heating or combinations of any of these fluids. System descriptions are below. Small Coolant Recirculating Systems - Small capacity circulating heater systems are designed to circulate engine coolant throughout the engine block by means of a circulating pump and motor combination to maintain operating temperatures in smaller capacity industrial engines during shut down and layover periods. Engine coolant passes through a heating chamber at a flow rate of 15 GPM. Temperature is maintained by a inline thermostat set to your specifications. Heating systems include a flow detection device, on/off switch, and an optional oil pressure cutoff switch to assure safe, reliable and automatic operation. Systems are available in a wide range of voltages and either single or three phase. Wattage ranges are available from 1.5 kW to 9 kW. All systems come standard with watertight construction. Small capacity circulating systems are designed for engines 500 CID to 3000 CID. Large Coolant Recirculating Systems - Large capacity circulating heating systems are designed to circulate engine coolant throughout the engine block by means of a circulating pump and motor combination to maintain operating temperatures in large capacity industrial engines during shut down and layover periods. Engine coolant passes through a heating chamber at a flow rate of 40 GPM. Temperature is maintained by an inline thermostat set to customer specifications. Heating systems include a flow detection device, on/off switch, and an optional oil pressure cutoff switch to assure safe, reliable and automatic operation. Systems are available in a wide range of voltages and single or three phase. Wattage ranges are available from 12 kW to 36 kW. All systems come standard with watertight construction and are available in Class 1, Group D hazardous location models. Large capacity circulating systems are designed for engines 3,000 CID to 18,000 CID. Small Oil Recirculating systems - These systems heat and circulate engine oil throughout the block of the engine to maintain engine operating temperature during
engine shutdown and layover periods. A pump and motor combination circulate heated oil throughout the engine at flow rates ranging from 1.2 GPM to 9.3 GPM
depending on different applications. As a pre-lube operation, warm oil is pumped into specific locations, such as critical internal engine components, prior to engine
start up. Circulating systems can also perform post-lube operations to cool down heated engine components gradually. Large Oil Recirculation Systems - Kim Hotstart large capacity circulating heating systems heat and circulate engine oil throughout the block of the engine to maintain engine operating temperature during engine shut down and layover periods. Oil is heated and circulated by a pump and motor combination. Flow rates vary from 16.0 GPM to 30.0 GPM depending on different applications. Warm oil is pumped into specific locations for pre-lubing or to supply warm oil to critical internal engine components prior to engine start up. Heating systems can also be used for post-lubing to cool down heated engine components gradually. Every system features inline and high limit thermostats, flow detection device, pressure relief valve and oil pressure cutoff switch assuring safe, reliable and automatic operation. These large capacity oil heating systems are ideal for heating compressor engines and large industrial engines. Available in a wide range of voltages, single and three phase, wattage’s range from 18 kW to 24 kW. Rated for oil capacities 600 gallons to 1800 gallons. Systems come standard with watertight construction and are available for Class 1, Group D hazardous location. Diesel Fuel/Coolant Recirculation Combination Systems - Diesel fuel/coolant heating systems feature a heating chamber accompanied with a circulation pump and motor for each fluid. Liquid preheating efficiently maintains an engine’s operating temperature during engine shutdown and layover periods. In turn, needless idling is eliminated reducing engine wear. Preheating the diesel fuel prevents waxing and gelling which occurs at freezing temperatures. Every system features an inline thermostat, flow detection device, pressure relief valve. System design allows for a wide range of uses such as ready-line applications for mining equipment and off road type construction equipment. Available in several voltages, single and three phase. Sized for engines starting at 1500 CID up to 9000 CID. Wattage’s range from 12 kW to 27 kW. Flow rates are 15 GPM for coolant and 10 GPM for oil. Coolant/Lube Oil Recirculation Combination Systems - The Kim Hotstart line of coolant/ lube oil combination heating systems combine the benefits of coolant heating and oil heating into one prewired, pre-assembled dual heating package. Maintaining jacket water temperatures insures easy starting and allows engines to go to full power without needless idling. In turn, the engine emits less noise and air pollution and equipment availability and uptime is increased. Circulating heated coolant also warms the preGallons ignition chamber on lean-burn engines which results in a reduction of harmful emissions during engine startup. Coolant/Lube Oil recirculation systems are also available for hazardous locations (Class 1 Group D). |
